INSTALLATION WORK
sonic bloom
sonic bloom was an installation at the WaveCave, inside the California Institute of the Arts. Through field recordings made using hydrophones in Anilao, the Philippines, sonic bloom attempted to convey the change in the acoustic ecology as effected by anthropogenic climate change.
It was centered a collaborative sculpture between sculpture artist David Zec and myself, titled reef. (rebar and copper sheeting, aquarium tank and paraphernalia, 8'x5'x5').

Included was an instruction asking viewers to write and leave a note detailing their fears in the future.
A performance of the same title. Amongst a bed of field recordings, a performance of a text score that, through deep listening and meditation, explored everyone's personal feelings on the ephemerality and fragility of our ocean's coral reefs.
